Update: “Next time, baby” -Iron Man 1

A redo of a Broken Social Scene I am in love with.

Columbia Spring Fashion Launch – April 2010 by Ramshackle Kings

So far, the most indie adulterated mix I’ve put out.

And it was LOADS of fun to do, especially after seeing the tracklist they provided.  I was short on songs at the end, so of course I added some choice Jaxx and Gorillaz.

Favorite Transitions:

Julian Casablancas -> Lykke Li
Yeah Yeahs -> Peter Bjork and John
Metric -> Phoenix
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah -> Cure
Cure -> Santogold
Gaga -> Strokes (HA!)
Basement Jaxx -> Gorillaz

See you next time, Kingdommmmm

This song has a strong heartwarming memory recollection value.  You know!  When it’s within earshot, it triggers euphoric sentiments often even through empirical senses?  Like smelling where you were?  K.  Just one of those rare tracks to which I can vividly recall my first listen.

I wasn’t certain if I wanted a dancey remix or a cover – so I chose both.  This way, if I ever DJ the original, which I do often, I can mix from either/or.

Update: RSK feature on Members Only AV

“In an age when where there are far more DJs than producers, it’s refreshing to find someone who is not only focusing on banging out awesome remixes, but original tracks as well…”

Update: RSK featured on Too Many Sebastians

Ok, Chill.  This is the very first blog post done on us and BONUS on a blog whose readership I’ve been part for while!  Discovered some of my favorite material on his site.  Excerpt…

“It’s his early days yet, but I’m hearing a lot of potential in his work.  Could be a very exciting prospect…”

SWOON.  The complete article can be found be here.

Update: Tambourine featured on Effort Chicago

My good friend and fellow producer-in-arms, Pete Cho wrote an article on my piece on Effort Chicago, the parent media blog of his music group, which has taken RSK under its pretty little umbrella.  The article can be read here.

Update: Tambourine featured on On the Spur of the Moment

Got to speak French while exchanging which this Montreal-based blog.  They used déchirer, slang that translates literally to “tear it up” :-) .  Translation…

“For February, I give you three songs that are absolutely crazy.  J’adore Ramshackle Kings.  Here’s a song that tears it up in likeness to MSTRKRFT’s first album, which we loved.”

Bisous.
